What CapCut actually offers students
CapCut's student discount page confirms the program: verify your student status and the same Pro features cost 50% less. Verification is valid for one year, then you re-verify. The discount can be applied once per eligible account and cannot be reused across multiple purchases or accounts.CapCut also runs a separate Creative Campus program where students at partner universities get free CapCut Pro memberships - worth checking if your school is a partner before paying anything.
How to claim the CapCut student discount
- Go to CapCut's student discount page and start the student verification.
- Complete verification (a third-party verifier confirms enrollment at your school).
- Once verified, subscribe to CapCut Pro - the 50% student price applies automatically for one year.
The gotchas worth knowing
- Once per account. The discount activates once and lasts a year - if verification fails, report it via Settings > Feedback or capcut.support@bytedance.com before retrying.
- Graduation ends it. Only currently enrolled students keep the discount; you re-verify each year.
If you are not eligible - the cheaper route
CapCut's free tier is one of the most generous editors around - the discount mainly unlocks Pro effects, cloud space and watermark-free exports.
And if what you actually need is AI help across the board - writing, research, images, video, coding - a single-tool discount is still a single tool. Krater's student offer takes 15% off for a year on a workspace that bundles 500+ models for a flat $20/month list price. Compare CapCut's full pricing with Krater's plans before deciding.
