Additions: apps, personas and prompts
Additions is the hub for everything that extends what Krater can do. Open it from the sidebar under Context, or go to /additions. It holds three kinds of items:
Apps: live connections to 1,400+ tools like Slack, Gmail, Notion, Linear, GitHub, Google Sheets and HubSpot. Connect one and the Agent can act inside it for you.
Personas: specialist AI characters with their own instructions, welcome message and conversation starters.
Prompts: reusable prompt text you can drop into any chat.
Tabs at the top filter the catalog: All, Apps, Personas, Prompts, plus My Creations and Saved when you are signed in. Sort by Trending, Top Rated, Newest or Most Used, search across everything, or click a creator’s name to see all their additions.
Apps
What connecting an app does
A connected app gives the Agent permission to act inside it on your behalf: read, create, update, send. Once connected, just ask in chat: “file a Linear issue”, “send this to #general on Slack”, “add a row to my Google Sheet”. The Agent finds the right action for the job and runs it, no workflow setup needed.
If a task needs an app you have not connected, the Agent can suggest it and drop a Connect card right into the conversation.
Connect an app
Connecting apps requires Pro, Ultra or Max. Team members inherit their owner’s plan, so a seat on a paid team works too (see Teams).
Open the Apps tab on /additions and click the app you want. Apps you already connected pin to the top.
Click Connect.
A secure hosted window opens. Sign in to the app and approve the permissions.
Done. The app shows as connected and its actions work in every chat.
Connecting costs nothing; there is no per-app fee. Actions the Agent takes through apps bill your plan’s normal Credits, same as any other chat work.
Disconnect and reconnect
Disconnect: open the app’s detail page and click Disconnect, or use the disconnect button next to it under chat’s + menu, Saved Additions.
Connection expired: the app shows a Reconnect badge, and a banner appears on the Additions page. Disconnect it, then connect again to restore access.
Custom MCP servers
If your tool is not in the catalog, you can plug in any remote MCP server yourself:
On the Apps tab, click the Add custom MCP server tile. You can also ask the Agent in chat to add one and confirm the card it shows.
Give it a name (2 to 40 characters) and the server’s public https URL.
Choose authentication: none, or API key. With a key, you enter it on the next secure screen, never in plain chat.
Krater checks the URL actually exposes tools, then adds the server as a private app tile. Connect it like any other app and its tools are available to the Agent.
You can run up to 10 custom MCP servers per account, and remove one any time.
Missing a mainstream app? Use the Suggest an app tile on the Apps tab to request it.
Personas
A persona is a tuned specialist: a system prompt plus a welcome message, suggested starters and a capabilities list, packaged for a job like copywriting, code review, research or support.
Open a persona and click Use to either start a new chat with it or apply it to your current chat.
Persona chats run on the Smart auto router on every plan, including plans where the routers are not normally included.
Community personas are public and rated by users. Personas you create can stay private or be published.
Prompts
Prompts are reusable blocks of prompt text: instructions, templates, or proven kickstarters.
Open a prompt and click Use to copy the full text to your clipboard.
Faster path: in any chat, open the + menu, choose Saved Additions, and click a saved prompt to drop it straight into the input box.
Create your own
Signed-in users can publish personas and prompts:
Click the + button on /additions, or go to /additions/create.
Pick the type: Persona or Prompt.
Fill in the name, short description, category and the system prompt. Optional extras: welcome message, suggested prompts, capabilities, tags, and an icon you can generate with AI or upload.
Keep it private or mark it public, then submit for review.
Krater reviews public submissions. Approved ones go live for everyone; rejected ones come back with a reason. Track all of yours under the My Creations tab, and edit or delete them from each item’s menu.
Users cannot publish apps; the app catalog is curated. If something is missing, suggest it from the Apps tab.
Save, rate and share
Save any addition with the bookmark button. It lands under the Saved tab and inside chat’s + menu, Saved Additions, for one-click reuse.
Rate items 1 to 5 stars. Ratings feed the Top Rated sort.
Share any item with its /additions/<slug> link from the detail menu.
Report items that should not be public from the same menu.
