Every way to connect Linear to an AI: Claude's connector, Linear's official hosted MCP server, and the zero-setup option.

Linear hosts an official MCP server — this is the rare case where the MCP path is genuinely simple:
claude mcp add --transport http linear https://mcp.linear.app/mcp
OAuth sign-in when prompted, done. Works in Claude Code, Claude Desktop, Cursor and other MCP clients. No tokens to mint, no local server to run.
No official Linear app exists in ChatGPT's directory as of October 2026. ChatGPT users connect Linear through a third-party bridge or an agent that has it built in — which is the next section.
Linear is one of 40+ apps wired into Krater's agent, next to GitHub, Slack, Notion and the rest. Connect once, then "create a Linear issue for this" just works, from any of 500+ models. See the Linear integration.
Both are possible. Read is the safe start; write access is what makes ticket filing useful. Linear's OAuth scopes control this at connection time.
Issues the AI creates show your account as author in most setups. For teams, a dedicated agent seat or service account is the cleaner pattern.
